Ingredients

For the dough:

-2 packages active dry yeast

-1/2 cup warm water

-1/2 cup sugar

-1/2 cup melted butter

-2 eggs, beaten

-1 teaspoon salt

-4 cups all-purpose flour

-1/4 cup warm milk

For the filling:

-1/2 cup butter, softened

-8 ounces cream cheese, softened

-1/4 cup sugar

-1 teaspoon vanilla extract

-1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

For the glaze:

-2 cups confectioners' sugar

-1/4 cup milk

-1 teaspoon vanilla extract

-1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water. Let stand for 5 minutes. In a large bowl, mix together the sugar, butter, eggs, salt, and 2 cups of the flour. Slowly add the yeast mixture and the warm milk, stirring until everything is well blended. Slowly add the remaining flour, 1 cup at a time, stirring until everything is well blended. The dough should be soft and slightly sticky.

2. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 6 minutes. Shape the dough into a ball and place in a greased bowl. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

3. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a baking sheet.

4. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. Set aside.

5. Punch down the dough and turn out onto a lightly floured surface. Roll the dough into a large rectangle about 1/4-inch thick. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough. Roll the dough into a log and shape into a ring on the prepared baking sheet. Pinch the ends together to seal.

6. Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

7. For the glaze, combine the confectioners' sugar, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon in a medium bowl and whisk until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled cake.
